When we’re trying to clear clutter, or not bring it home in the first place, there seem to be angels and devils on our shoulders whispering in our ears:
It’s too expensive.
I’ll look great in that.
There’s nowhere to put it.
I deserve a treat.
I recently heard a fabulous question that seems to cut through a lot of mental chatter:
Does it represent the person you want to be?
If we have a vision of our ideal selves, our homes and offices, and the future we want for our families, this question can sort things out quickly.
