The weather has definitely turned; plants are starting to winterize, shedding the leaves they no longer need and turning brown. Perhaps we can follow their example and do a little shedding of our own this week.
When we first moved out on our own, we were very grateful to receive equipment that other people were finished with. It wasn’t always in the best condition, but it was free. Eventually, though, they were replaced. They were too rickety/ unstable, rusty/ dirty, or generally shabby. The important part of replacing those well-used items is to let the old one go. No need to keep both! Pass it on to another impoverished student if you can.
